like i announced, today was the day i harvested the second needed material. like you can see, there are bicycle inner tubes. i visited 6 shops in the area of bielefeld. now i have filled the trunk of my car to the brim. 4 of the blue sacs contain maybe 400 - 500 of them. a percentage of them are racing or mountain / bmx bike tubes that i can’t use because of the wrong diameter. anyways, there should be enough now for like 2 - 3 months.
i got them all for free and the shop keepers were all interested in the further use of the tubes, e.g. their waste. i showed them the buckles and checked the reaction, talked and discussed about the idea. nice. two of the shop owners even asked me to keep in touch and eventually buy a few of the belts to sell them to the bicycle fans.
to be honest, this is not really my goal. why, you may ask? it is an unwise act to not sell your own product to retailers, right? well, it might not be unwise! in short: this could kill a huge percentage of my profit margin.
